Solari: Two weeks until he stops being provisional coach
Real Madrid’s new coach, Santiago Solari, has two weeks to show that he can reverse the current situation at the club and prove to be the right man for the full-time job.
His appointment is provisional, but could become permanent if things go well.
It’s known that the first-team believe that he understands the philosophy of the club, something ingrained in him since the day he first signed as a player and years later as coach of the academy.
Now there is a period of two weeks and four games in which the Argentine can show his ability and skills as a coach.
If he passes the exam, Solari will no longer be the interim solution, and that will be the moment for him to be presented as all Real Madrid coaches deserve.
When Lopetegui‘s situation began to become untenable, the first name on Florentino Perez‘s list was that of Solari.
The president likes him and without any real alternative at this stage, there is the opportunity to be able to lead the first team on Wednesday against Melilla and on Saturday against Valladolid.
Five and a half seasons of coaching experience in the lower categories of Real Madrid will stand him in good stead.
Now he will have to demonstrate that the step to the elite level is not an obstacle for him.
His extensive experience as a footballer also helps in knowing how dressing rooms work.
