CAF TO UNFOLD NEW INTER-CLUB CALENDAR, FOLLOWING SHEHU DIKKO’S COMMITTEE’S RECOMMENDATIONS

A change is in the offing in the calendar of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This is sequel to the conclusion of a meeting of the seven-man ad-hoc committee the body recently set up.

The committee, in which Nigeria’s Shehu Dikko is a member, concluded its meeting on Saturday. It has laid its recommendation for CAF emergency committee to decide on.

CAF runs two interclub competitions, the Champions’ League and the Confederation Cup, which are both patterned almost along the lines of the more famous UEFA Champions League and the Europa Cup.

Owing to the specificity of 2018/19 being transitional season for change of calendar, which also affects the premier continental premier competition, the Africa Cup of Nations, CAF announced that a decision will be taken soon by its emergency committee.
