The Nigerian Under-23 national team had their first training session on Sunday morning in Asaba, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba as the team intensifies preparations for the second leg of the U-23 African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Sudan on Tuesday, September 10th.
Kelechi Nwakali who recently joined Spanish Segunda division side Huesca was part of the training session that’s was handled by coach Imama Amapakabo.
Etyboy Akpan was the only player who did not take part in the training due to stomach ache.
The team will have another training session by 4:00 pm.
The team will look to overturn a 1st leg 1-0 deficit to enhance qualification for the U-23 African Cup of Nations in Egypt. The tournament will hold in November.
