CHAN Super Eagles coach, Imama Amakpakabo has extended invitation to Katsina United midfield trojan Destiny Ashadi ahead of the CHAN qualifiers crunch tie against ‘The Hawks of Togo’ in Asaba, Delta State.
Ashadi who has been the creative force behind Katsina United success since they gained promotion to the Nigeria elite league four years ago is expected to join the rest of the team in Abuja on Sunday.
The former Kogi United star has been invited along with the following; Ifeanyi Aneamena (Enyimba FC), Anthony Shimaga (Rangers) and Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Heartland FC) who is expected to join the camp after Brazil game.
Coach Imama Boys suffered a 4 – 1 defeat during the first leg in Togo despite scoring first in that encounter. They now have a huge mountain to climb as they must score three unreplied goals past their stubborn opponent from Togo in order to qualify for the championship.
Destiny Ashadi was part of the team that won Bronze in the 2017 WAFU Cup in Ghana under coach Salisu Yusuf.
He was also invited to the CHAN Eagles camp in 2018 but could not make it to the tournament after he suffered a ankle injury and was replaced by Austin Oladapo of Enyimba.
