Sequel to the recent financial aid from the Honourable Minister of Sport and youth development, Mr Sunday Dare to the aged mother of Nigeria football legend, late Rasheed Yekini. The Nigeria under 20 flying eagle winger,Adeshina Gata has commends the NFF and the minister effort.
Eight years since the demise of Nigeria’s record first goal scorer, Rashidi Yekini, and like always, football fans and stars across the globe are paying tributes to the late football legend.
Rasheed Yekini a native of Ira in the recent Oyun Local Government area of Kwara State died on May 4,2012. Despite the sadness in Yekini’s death, there is
immeasurable pride in his achievements; some which are still unmatched till date.
On Wednesday the representative of the Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, Olaitan Shittu visited Alhaja Yekini in his residence at Ijagbo, Kwara State.
The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has placed the mother of late Super Eagles striker, Rashidi Yekini, Alhaja Sikiratu, on a monthly stipend he disclosed.
The cash sum of 50,000, bag of rice, and other goodies was given to her as Ramadan gift and also as a palliative.
Gata shows his satisfaction and commend the minister for taking such action “This shows how hopeful for the patriotism in the country, now i strongly believe the labour of our hero past shall never been in vain”.
Adeshina added that the minister of Sport is very functional and performing which to him will take Nigeria sport to a greater height.
