2016 Nigeria Professional Football League champions Rangers International are is set for the much awaited presentation of the Insurance benefit due to late Rangers International F.C’ attacking sensation, Ifeanyi Onwubiko George, scheduled to take place at the players’ camp.

Enugu state governor, H.E, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who graciously approved the club’ management proposal to have the players and officials comprehensively insured, will be on ground to make the presentation alongside the management of Premier Brokers Limited, Rangers International F.C, N.F.F big wigs and other football stake holders.
G.M/CEO of the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Prince Davidson Owumi, said while carrying out inspection of works at the venue, “We are glad that we are getting to the end of this good story that started on a sad note with the loss of our dear player, Ifeanyi George. All thanks to the sports loving governor of Enugu state and the number one supporter of Rangers. Being the first of its kind in the country, we hope to use it to sell the club, league and Nigeria football positively to the outside world.”
The former NPL and Warri Wolves boss further said, “Like we have been saying, no amount presented to George’ family can equal his life but it will to a very large extent sooth the pains of the big loss while it will also show to the outside world that the club and its major sponsor, Enugu state government, place players’ welfare in high esteem. It is our belief that the event will mark a watershed on the revolution sorted by stake holders in the football sector of the country.”
Prince Owumi stated that the cheque presentation ceremony which will be very brief shall observe in full the P.T.F’ COVID-19 health protocols with regards to social distancing, use of face mask, proper washing of hands and others.
Recall that late Ifeanyi Onwubiko George died in a ghastly auto accident along Asaba-Benin express road on March 22, 2020 alongside two other occupants of his vehicle while traveling to Lagos to be with his family after football activities was suspended by N.F.F due to the COVID-19 pandemic that is sweeping across the world.
