New Super Eagles invitee Sebastian Osigwe has tested positive for coronavirus, the goalkeeper’s Swiss club FC Lugano confirmed the news on their official website, Felele247.com.ng understands.
Osigwe joins a list of eight Lugano players who have tested positive for coronavirus.

In addition, two other players (Noah De Queiroz and David Jovanovic), aggregated to the first team but who took part in last weekend’s match of Team Ticino U21 have also been quarantined.
Starting from the sixth day of quarantine (and therefore from today) and until the tenth (Monday 2 November 2020, for Oss Friday 6 November 2020) the quarantined are allowed to train in the bubble under strict preventive health measures, this should (conditional d ‘ obligation considering the times they run) at least allow the team to prepare and play the match on Saturday 7 November 2020 in Lausanne. It is understood that the two positive players will instead have to remain in isolation.
As for the match on Sunday 1 November 2020 against Young Boys, FC Lugano, as deprived of 8 players, has requested the postponement of the same as required by the regulations in force and is expecting a positive response shortly.
Osigwe, 26, as per rules, will self-isolate for ten days before another test is carried out on him.
The news will come as a blow to Osigwe, who was initially called up to the Super Eagles squad for the first time, in the African Cup of Nations’ double header clash against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.
At club level, Osigwe has made four appearances for Lugano this season.
