The league title holders, Peculiar Football Club have started preparation to retain Alimosho league won last season which put together by Alimosho Football Coaches Council.
The league would commence 17th November 2020 among twelve clubs across various centres in Lagos.
Among the participating clubs are Future Stars FC, Sammy FC, Kedge Sports, Flying Wings, Newtown FC and Peculiar FC. Others are Salamson FC, Samjason FC, NISSI Sports, IBMA, Tailgate FC and IGU FC.
Coach of Peculiar FC, Ahotin Ahothony expressed confidence that his team are in a good position to retain the title won last season. He said his team have prepared well and played series of friendly matches ahead of the league and warned other participating teams to beware of them.
“I am not under pressure to win it back to back because my players are in high spirit. We are looking forward to the league and I believe that we can do better in terms of performance this season than the previous season,” he said.
Commenting on their first match against Kedge Sports FC, Anthony said they are ready for their opponents and promised good outing. He said his team played them goalless in their home last season and ready to win them this time around when the league kicks off.
“I am looking forward to the game because it is a match that would decide if we will go far or not. I am aware that many clubs want to dethrone us but we also double our preparation so that we can achieve our set goal,” he said.
Commenting on the Alimosho League, Anthony said the organizers have done well urging them to do more in the forthcoming league,” he concluded.
