Gloria Etim – Uyo
Former Nassarawa United forward Ikechukwu Nwani will face serious consequences for his selfish decision to go solo instead of taking the safe option of passing to teammate Ndifreke Effiong to score In the first half of Akwa United’s 1-1 draw with Wikki yesterday in Uyo.
An inside scoop from the Uyo based club indicates Nwani who was withdrawn at half time after the miss which was compounded by Chinedu Udeagha’s equalizer minutes later will be axed from the line up with Charles Atsimene favoured to replace him as coach Kennedy Boboye rejigs his options ahead of the weekend.
Nwani has cut a lonely image after being tongued lashed by the fans, coaches and teammates for the act which cost a chance for Akwa United to bury the game before Wikki equalised.
Samuel Amadi who was also unimpressive vs Wikki will also make way alongside two others as 12th placed Akwa United seek for redemption on Matchday six of the 2020/2021 Nigerian Professional Football League.
