Stationery Stores FC of Lagos have unveiled their new season kits ahead of the Nigeria National League 2020/2021 season, Felele247.com.ng understands.
The Adebajo Babes or Flaming Flamingoes will be hoping to return to the Nigeria Professional Football League after relegating in 1992/93 season after winning the league in the previous season.
The Flaming Flamingoes played some exhibitions games with the likes of Brazilian giants Santos where they won 2-0 at their fortress Onikan Stadium in 1972, played 2-2 draw Dundee United, they were beaten 3-1 by Ayr United in 1976 and played a goalless draw with Brazilian Fluminense at the National Stadium in Surulere.
Founded in 1958 by Israel Adebajo, who ran the very successful Nigerian Office Stationery Supply Stores Limited. They immediately established themselves as one of the dominant teams in Lagos and Nigeria, supplying the bulk of the first team players of the national team and winning a total 13 Lagos State Challenge Cups, the preliminary round for the Nigerian FA Cup, and 4 National FA Cup competitions.
The club’s glory years started in 1967. Their fluid and entertaining style of play endeared the club to Lagos fans as they delivered two FA Cups within that period. The first 11 of the Nigerian national team in the 1968 Mexico City Olympic football event had 9 Stationery Stores players, including Sam Opone and Peter Fregene.[1] The team also provided a steady supply of goalkeepers to the Nigerian national team
The Group B1 fixtures will see an old rivalry between Shooting Stars, Bendel Insurance and Calabar Rovers reignites in the new season of the Nigeria National League which includes the likes of a new entrance into the group Vandrezzer FC
