North central derby: Kwara united v Niger Tornadoes

Qualifying to play in the Premier League three (3) matches to go in a most tempestuous football league in Nigeria…it’s amazing, in fact, incredible.

One can imagine the huge expectations placed on the harmony boys since their sudden emergence and dominance of the Northern Conference of 2016/2017 bet9ja Nigeria National League couple with their unique philosophy of ‘Play it simple and Direct; but result oriented.’

The harmony boys’ first league game will be played against Niger Tornadoes, ‘a known foe’ according to the Club Secretary, Mallam Bako Ibrahim, on Saturday 14 January, 2018 at the main bowl of Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin. It’s a massive game for the harmony boys who will be hoping to keep up the pace and euphoria of last season and the level of preparation put in this season.

During the last two (2) seasons, the two (2) teams played three (3) friendly matches Niger Tornadoes won one, while the remaining two were drawn.

In the ongoing football season, both teams have met twice in a friendly match in Ilorin and during a scrimmage in Kano. The harmony boys won the friendly match by a lone goal while the group stage of Ahlan Preseason Tournament in Kano ended a goal apiece.
