August 27 Stadium is ready to host NPFL matches - Ago

Yobe State director of sports and general manager Yobe Desert Stars Football Club of Damaturu Alhaji Abubakar Abdulrahman Ago has disclosed to Felele247 Media that the August 27 Stadium is ready to host any Nigeria Professional Football League matches.

The former FIFA Badged referee disclosed this on Monday in Damaturu, that the Stadium is going through massive renovation both the pitch and other facilities at the stadium.

“We are working round the clock to make sure we meet the criteria of the League Management Company”

“As you can see, the playing surface is being re-grass by our filed engineers, they will work throughout the night for us to meet the two weeks given to us by the League Management Company”

“We have four dressing rooms for both the home and away team, Away teams are free to use from any of this rooms for their team preparation”

“We also have 20 computers equipped with internet services for the members of the press who want to cover any match”

“Also players and officials can have the privilege to get food and refreshment from the players’ food canteen rather than stressing themselves to get food elsewhere.” He concluded”

Our timing fans love Yobe Desert Stars and they want them to play on their natural home ground, we are hoping that the team of inspectors to come and inspect the stadium before the weekend games”

Yobe Desert Stars secured their first ever Nigeria Professional Football League status last season from the Nigeria National League.

The desert machine will host former league champions Kano Pillars Football Club at home this weekend.


The desert machine is 7th on the league log with 16 points from 11 games played so far this season.
