iger Tornadoes midfield maestro, Moses Ugwu, yesterday emerged man of the match as the Minna based side edged Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi 1-0 at the Mamman Kotangora Stadium, in a Match Day 23 (Rescheduled) clash in the 2017/2018 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Moses, popularly known as Okere (Squirrel) by his close friends, had not featured for the Ikon-Allah boys since he sustained an ankle injury in their victory on the road to FC Ifeanyi Ubah about two weeks ago.
Only a late fitness test last Friday, offered the youngster an opportunity to be available for selection, and he justified his inclusion in the team with a man of the match performance for the duration of 90 minutes.
The handler of the side, Hamza Abara did not hide his feelings on the performance of his new acquisition, stating that the boy is a rare gem in the middle of the pack for 2017 Aiteo Cup Finalists.
“Moses is a very important player in our midfield whenever we play; he makes the job very easy for his teammates.”
“I always have confidence in him whenever he is on the field because he plays to instructions.”
It would be recalled that diminutive midfielder made his debut for the NPFL side early last month where he carted away the same MVP Award, in a match against MFM FC that paraded the likes of Chuka Onuwa, Chato Giscard, etc.
