The management of Katsina United have finalized arrangements for two friendly games bid for this weekend
‘The Changi Boys’ who resumed training fortnight ago ahead of 2019/2020 NPFL season will play their first official preseason match Friday, 14th September, 2019 against Funtua Sharks from Funtua, and will battle Junior Dambram FC from Daura Saturday, 15th September, 2019.
While speaking with the official website of the club www.fckatsinaunited.com for the first time, the newly appointed head coach who resumed work early this week Henry Makinwa said
“I think the friendly games are very good for us.
“We are yet to play any match since the end of last season and these two friendly matches will help us to check and correct what we have been impacting and lapses respectively since we reaumed.
On the quality of the team he inherited, Coach Makinwa said
“I think Katsina United is one of the youngest teams in the NPFL. They are set of young players with exposure. They are always willing to learn and I think they will make my work easier.
“I am trying to introduce my philosophy and pattern of play to them gradually and they are actually blending.
“Its not an easy task to transform from one pattern to another but all of them (Players) are learning very fast and hopefully before the beginning of the season, they would have gotten used to the new pattern and my philosophy. He explained
The former Abia Warriors gaffer went further by revealing his personal target which is to ensure that Katsina United maintain their status in the NPFL and perhaps pick one of the continental tickets
“While I am still waiting for the management to reveal to me their target, my personal target for the season is to ensure that my team finish among the best four and perhaps pick one of the continental tickets. He admitted
The time for both games is 4PM and the venue is Katsina United FC home ground, Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
