Adamawa United travel to Lagos to face ninth place MFM FC sitting just two points ahead of Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League table.
Meanwhile, MFM FC was held at home by third on the table Sunshine Stars dropping them the further ninth position of the standing. Both teams will be meeting for the first time in the history of the Nigeria Professional Football League
While Mohammed Bello would have been naturally disappointed after suffering their heaviest defeat in the hand of third-place Sunshine Stars at home last weekend, the Adamawa United boss will be delighted for his team bounce back against the bottom of the log Nasarawa United last Wednesday.
Prior to 1-1 draw against Sunshine Stars in Akure, the Olukoya boys recorded 3-0 win over Akwa United at home, which forced coach John Obuh to resigned his appointment as the manager of the Uyo based team and making him the first coach to do so this season after a poor start by Akwa United.
MFM FC’s manager Tope Bolus will no doubt be looking ahead rather than backwards, but putting pressure on the top four.
However, Tope Bolus will see that MFM FC now have a tough run of fixtures, and an extended period with a low return would change the mood at Agege Stadium.
As it stands, though, MFM FC has recorded just one less point than their next opponents, creating the opportunity to move into the top half of the table by Saturday night.
Adamawa United manager Mohammed Bello would have probably hoped to see his team placed even higher given their overall form, but a return of minus six points and five loss has hindered their top ten standing.
Mohammed Bello will call for focus against teams occupying places in the bottom half, there is enough breathing space ahead of the drop zone where they can throw caution to the wind.
