As every team is preparing for the rereturn of football action in the country after the Coronavirus pandemic, goals are so set by them. Ekemini Ukoebe Ekereuke of Akwa United has also revealed that the team has a set of goals to achieve when the league returns.
Akwa United defender Ekemini Ukoebe Ekereuke is very optimistic that The Promise Keepers can get a continental ticket when the league returns after the Coronavirus break.
Before the league was suspended as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic, Akwa United was occupying the 6th position in the league table with 35 points, just 10 points behind the second place team Rivers United and 8 points behind the third place team Lobi Stars after 25 matches.
But despite these points differences, the former Lori FC of Armenia defender believes that the Promise Keepers can get continental ticket at the end of the season. “I am very sure and certain that immediately the league resumes we are sure of continental ticket, that is our target. He said.
The last time Akwa United played in the continent was in 2018 in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they were eliminated in the third round of the competition
