Bendel Insurance has announced the death of their club goalkeeper,Umar Ahmad Jalingo.
Jalingo joined the Benin based club in 2019 from Niger Tornadoes alongside the club manager Bernard Ogbe.
Jalingo started his professional with the Savannah Scorpions before joining Mighty Jets in 2017 before moving to Niger Tornadoes in 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
The deseased player’s family source broke the sad news to Insurance Team Manager,Coach Bernard Ogbe Friday morning .
Before his untimely death, Umar Jalingo, aged 27, was hospitalized at the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) in Gombe, where he was treated due to serious illness.
With the National League and football in Nigeria suspended due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Umar Jalingo had the chance to treat himself at the hospital.
Umar Jalingo,27, died at the early hours of today(Friday) during illness, He left behind,a wife,Hajia Zuleha and four children.
The family source also informed us of their plans to bury the remains of late Umar Jalingo at 2.00PM today in oeder of Islamic rites and traditions.
