Ogun state based Nigeria Nationwide League One Olumo United Sporting Director, Paul Olayemi Ogunlaja has said that the club putting everything in place to succeed in the 2020/21 Nigeria Nationwide League One, NLO, season, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Paul who doubles as the scout of the Ogun state based team expressed confidence on the readiness of the team adding that the club was founded to create a platform for talented youth to showcase their God-given talents to the world.
In an exclusive interview with BSN Sports, Paul said, “the president of the club decided to give back to the society hence registration of the team in the NLO is to create a platform for young players to exhibit their God-given talent.
He explained what the coach and the players were doing during the stay-at-home period to keep fit ahead of the oncoming season.
“The coach has created a daily routine for the players where they are to do individual physical training every morning to keep fit ahead of the new season. He passes training instruction through Zoom and asked them to record their personal training and send back to him for assessment.
When he was asked if the president and management are ready to fully finance the team at this difficult period. he says, “the president and management of the club have sat down and discussed about the payment of the players, coaches and backroom staff. We have 35 players to feed, pay their salaries and also accommodate them. We have evaluated all these financial responsibility and discovered that we are fit to take it up without stress. We know that it is a difficult period based on Covid-19 pandemic but then we can keep going and making things happen.” He concluded.
He also spoke on partnership and sponsors of the club.
“Currently, we have spoken with sponsors but Coronavirus has stalled the partnership deals. We are waiting for the announcement of completion of the partnership after this Covid19 pandemic.
Olumo United a Nationwide League One side, was founded April 17th, 2020.
