Imo State Sports commissioner Hon. Dan Ogu has come out to clarify the issues between the Imo state ministry of sports,youth and social development and the embattled management of Heartland FC of Owerri.
The newly appointed sports commisioner disclosed to Felele247 Media that the state governor his Excellency Chief Hope Uzodinma directed all boards and parastatals to handover to the next in command immediately he took the leadership of the state including heartland FC led by Hon. Charles Ezekwem.
“Before I was appointed as the new commissioner for Imo State Youth,sports and social development, his Excellency Governor Chief Hope Uzodinma gave the order that all state boards and parastatals should handover to the next personnel in command immediately he came in as the new governor of Imo state.”
” He did not reversed his statement, only welfare officer of the club followed the directives, he submitted all properties at his disposal, but due to the lockdown caused by Covid19 other management members could not tendered the properties of the club to the next person in charge which is the accountant of the club”
“Heartland FC is not just a club, but a club for the people of Imo state and Nigerians”
He further hinted, the sports ministry is putting everything for the forth coming national sports festival and as well as Heartland FC ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League 2020/2021 season.
