Former Super Eagles forward, Eddy Lord Dombraye has called on clubs playing at the Nigeria Professional Football League to start injecting young players into their teams for the purpose of generating financial base for their clubs, sportsembassy.com.ng can report
The former Insurance of Benin forward stated this while fielding question as a guest in an online whatsapp platform, SPORTS WORLD hosted by an Ibadan based Sports journalist, Sunday Agunbiade and MAX FM Sports journalist, Francisca Nwobodo that most NPFL Clubs are not really building their teams for commercial purpose but rather going on quick fix for a result.
He added that “Nothing bad in going for establish or ready made players but they need to start thinking like Europeans who builds young players with the main team and generate huge money for the clubs.
Dombraye said “I have noticed in recent seasons that most transfer being done in Nigeria league is transferring of young and academy players to the lower leagues while NPFL clubs settle for the established legs.
Part of the biggest problems in Nigeria league is that contract are not being respected. Pitches are not up to standard and needed to be upgraded.
The welfare of the players and coaches should be Paramount. Then the clubs should inject fresh blood for commercial pirpose
On the part of contractual aspect, I think the LMC are doing their best to curtail the contractual issues between clubs and players also with officials.
