Felele247.com.ng have scooped that Players of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Sunshine Stars, on Wednesday boycotted camp in protest of five months unpaid salaries by the club.
The management of the Akure Gunners had asked the players to resume camp on Wednesday, in preparation for the commencement of the 2020/21 NPFL season.
But reports say none of the players resumed in camp and according to a source, “the players would not resume until they got paid.”
This is the not the first that the Akure gunners are owing their players, in 2018/19 Nigeria Professional Football League season commence the League Management Company ordered the club management to pay all outstanding backlog of salaries, match bonuses of the players before the club was allowed to register their new players.
Also in 2019/2020 NPFL a former goalkeeper of the Akure based club owed the club bus to Ransome due to backlog of unpaid salaries by the club.
