George Alaba, father and agent of Bayern Munich footballer David Alaba, told ‘Bild’ that his son has still not reached an agreement with Real Madrid. Liverpool also wants him.
David Alaba will not be Real Madrid’s first signing for 2021-22. ‘Marca’ said on Monday night that the footballer had reached an agreement with the Spanish side, but his father denied the news.
George Alaba, who is also the player’s agent, denied the news this Tuesday in an interview with ‘Bild’.
George also said that Real Madrid and his son have not struck a deal on the financial terms and not even a pre-agreement has been done between the clubs.
The player’s father also admitted that other top European clubs are interested in the defender, including Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp’s side, who lost Virgil van Dijk to injury for the rest of the season, also showed interest in signing the player. They and Madrid are the favourites to get him at the moment.
Alaba’s Bayern Munich contract expires at the end of the season so he can now negotiate with any club he likes ahead of a move away for free in June.
The Austrian defender, who can play both at left-back and centre back, has played in 20 matches in the current season and rumours over his future are set to dominate the second half of the campaign.
