Sudanese giants El- Merriekh have added another Nigerian into their star studded squad ahead of the CAF Champions League resumption.
The latest signing is Lobi Stars defender Adeleye Aniyikaye who signed a two-year contract the club.
An official statement was released by the Red Cattle in Omdurman on their media platform about the latest acquisition.
Aniyikaye made his debut for Nigeria’s Super Eagles in 2018 in an international friendly match against Lone stars of Liberia.
Before leaving the shore of Nigeria, Aniyikaye was part of the WAFU Super Eagles team of 2017 where he played in 5 games.
He’s expected to play a key role for Al-Merrikh when the CAF Champions League group stage commences in February 2021
He started his professional football career with Nigeria National League side Bayelsa United before being captured by FC Ifeanyi Ubah of Anambra before securing his move to Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi.
Also, joining the club is Jamaican international Centre-forward Darren Mattocks from MLS DC United on a free transfer
