ADAMA BOJANG: GAMBIA U20 FORWARD WANTS TO LEAVE A MARK AT THIS TOURNAMENT

Gambian youngster Adama Bojang netted his first goal and first hat-trick at the CAF U20 TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations in Egypt against South Sudan on Friday evening.

Bojang was the top scorer in the Gambia Football Federation first division league with six goals before coming to this tournament.

The young Steve Biko forward, who is hardworking, intelligent, pacy, and clinical, is a hot product in Gambian football and a type of player every club will want to have at the moment.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the semi final tie with Nigeria, Bojang echoed that its a big accomplishment for him and his teammates reaching the world cup in Indonesia.

Bojang, one of the three players to register three goals in one game in the CAF U20 AFCON, said facing Nigeria is another challenge for the Young Scorpions.

“Every stop is a new beginning; playing against Nigeria is a morale booster for us as we want to be in the final, and Nigeria is the only obstacle at the moment.”

“It’s a big game for us, the young lads. We will go and fight for it on the pitch, as our coach said, “football is played on the pitch, not on paper.

“I got injured during the WAFU tournament in Mauritania, but I thank Allah that I am okay now and having the chance to prove to the world what I can do.” Adama Bojang said.
