Al Hilal SC Omdurman To Feature In The Tanzanian Premiership Next Season

Sudanese Giants Al Hilal SC Omdurman have completed a transition to play in the Tanzania Premier League next season, Felele247.com.ng understands.

Club manager, Congo Kinshasa born Florent Ibenge hinted a Moroccan sports website that the Sudanese competition will participate in the Tanzanian Premier League as from next season due to instability in Sudan which crippled the country’s economy and the football.

Sudsn fell into turmoil again for the first time in 30 years after economic woes in last year.

Founded in 1930, Al Hilal SC have been all their CAF Champions League outside Sudan since last year with no indication that the domestic league will return to the country.

The name Hilāl is the Arabic word for crescent – a name chosen on a night when the crescent of the moon was visible in Omdurman. Also it is the first club in the world to be named (AL- HILAL). The motto for Al-Hilal is Allah – AlWatan – Al-Hilal. It is translated to English as “God – The Nation – Al-Hilal”.
The team’s home stadium, Al-Hilal Stadium, nicknamed “The Blue Jewel”, opened in January 2018.
