Heartland beg LMC for two weeks to pay their players

Owerri based Nigeria Professional Football League outfit Heartland FC have appealed to the League Management Company for a grace of 14days to settle their player’s backlog of salaries within 14 days, Felele247.com understands.

The club made this disclosure in a letter dated 11th January 2022, which stated that

We are in receipt of letter dated 7th January 2022 of the above subject matter and in reply thereof the pending issue of nonpayment of salary have been resolved positively addressed and consequently been resolved.

We appeal for the grace of 14 days for us to the needful and as well show good fate

The League Management Company has earlier written to the club over the nonpayment of the player salaries stating that they want to know what the reason why the players are being owed up to nine months.

Failure to pay, the Owerri based are in a risk of losing their premiership status, they face Abia Warriors in an oriental derby this weekend at Okigwe Township Stadium for their Nigeria Professional Football League matchweek 6.
