I was sure we would win the match, but never knew the winning goal would come from me…Alalade Wasiu

Shooting stars of Ibadan player, Alalade Wasiu has expressed excitement for scoring the wining and only goal against Kastina United in week four Nigeria professional football league at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

He described the match as a crucial one for the two teams “though I knew the match will end in our favour, especially seeing the confidence and the attitude of my teammates even before the match”

“I was able to monitor the match from the bench and I have my best plans inside of me before I entered, immediately I was introduced, I quickly positioned myself to penetrate through the weak Katsina defender. Immediately I received the pass, I quickly executed my plan, which resulted in the lone goal”

“Though it was my first touch that resulted in the winning goal of the match, it doesn’t still mean I’m the best among others, it was a collective effort from my teammates. They believe in me and also noticed I am in the best position to score the goal at that particular time the pass was given to me and thank God I did not disappoint their trust in me”

“The goal has boosted my morale with the team and I believe with the commitment of my teammates, technical crew and the management, my best has yet come. The league is still open, I will do my best to write my name in gold with the team”

“Shooting Stars (3SC) is one of the biggest teams in the Nigerian league, with lots achievement and I see it as a privilege to have an opportunity to be part of the team, to set up another good record”

“I don’t really have a target for myself, but I believe at the end of the league I will be among the best players in terms of quality and goal scoring, with the support of my teammates to which I dedicate my first goal of the season”

“Finally, I appeal to the NFF to look inward into our league and patronise our league for players for the national team, we have quality players in the league who can compete with the present Super Eagles players if given the chance, the only thing they need is the  opportunity to showcase their talents”

“I wish the Super Eagles of Nigeria the best outing in the Nation’s Cup, I wish the players an injury free campaign and success in Cameroon”
