Match Preview: Lobi Stars faces Enyimba at home

Coming from a double on the road fixture where all efforts in the two games against Nasarawa United and Katsina United could only give Lobi Stars 1 point best of 6, The Pride of Benue are back home to wait for Enyimba Int’l in a must-win encounter.

The NPFL Matchday 8 anticipatory thriller which will be decided inside the main bowl of The Aper Aku Stadium on Sunday, January 23, 2022, holds immediate fortunes of Lobi Stars on the log. The two road games pushed The Glory to Glory Boys by 5 places downwards.

Standing 11th with 9 points from 7 games, 4 places lower than 7th placed Enyimba Int’l with 10 points from 6 games with a differential of only one point, Lobi Stars are poised not to leave any stone unturned towards clinching the maximum points at the end of the encounter.

With a disadvantaged head to head of 28 direct games, where they won only 6 games to Enyimba’s 11 wins leaving 11 draws in between, Lobi Stars need to up the ante in order to return to the first 6 on the table or otherwise sink deeper.

On current form, both clubs won 2, drew 1 and lose 2 of their last 5 NPFL  fixtures in the current season. The 2021/2022 NPFL table is extraordinarily tight as can be seen that, 3 of the clubs occupying the 10th, 9th and 8th positions have the same points as Lobi Stars while the 7th and 6th placed are only one point above the Eddy Dombraye tutored lads.

“Every matchday is a new experience, and we are going for nothing less than the 3 points”, Eddy Dombraye disclose to Lobi Stars media, he also calls for the teeming fans of the club to turn up en-mass and cheer the boys to victory.
