Augustine “cezero” Eguavoen quits Super Eagles head coach
Former Nigeria 🇳🇬 international and interim head coach of Super Eagles, Mr Augustine Eguavoen has tendered his resignation to the Nigeria’s football governing body NFF from his position as the Technical Adviser of the team, Felele247.com understands
Eguavoen got the job as interim coach for the Super Eagles after the sacking of Gernot Rohr in 2021 resigned on Thursday morning after failing to guide the team to her 7th World Cup appearance
Eguavoen resigned as Super Eagles Technical Adviser and will return to his role as Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
His position as Technical Director oversees all technical issues concerning all national teams.
During his varied career Eguavoen began his career with ACB Lagos in his native Nigeria, some impressive performances gained him a move to Gent in 1986. He went on to play for K.V. Kortrijk, CD Ourense, Sacramento Scorpions, Torpedo Moscow and finished his career in Malta with Sliema Wanderers.
Eguavoen was a member of the Nigeria national team squad that qualified for the country’s first ever World Cup in 1994, and won the African Nations Cup in the same year
