NPFL 2022/2023 season to kickoff in September
A week after the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League rounded up,, The 2022/2023 Nigeria 🇳🇬 Professional Football League will kickoff September 23, 2022 and it will end on June 18, 2023, Felele247.com understands.
The league of 20 clubs will compete to fight for honour with Rivers United set to defend the league title and it will see all league fixtures will be played on weekends with continental and Aiteo Cup games are to be played on midweeks.
Four teams will join the 16 teams, with Kano Pillars relegated for the first time in 23 years with Katsina United, Heartland and MFM FC
Bendel Insurance and Doma United are gained their elite status two weeks ago after securing their promotions against Gateway United and Jigawa Golden Stars respectively.
The remaining slot wil be contested between Bayelsa United, Warri Wolves, El-Kanemi Warriors and Crown FC.
Also, the NPFL general assembly of the LMC and club owners will hold on September 16 just before the season commences.
