NFF failed to read the content of my contract – Gernot Rohr
Former Super Eagles of Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr has come out to explain more about his sacking from the Super Eagles managerial job.
The Franco German was sacked after failing to meet the target given to win the 2021 Africa Nation’s Cup to be hosted by Cameroon.
The new contract also includes qualifying the Super Eagles to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
On 12 December 2021, he was sacked despite qualifying for the 2021 Africa Nation’s Cup and final round of qualifying for the World Cup playoffs.

A former Super Eagles boss, Gernot Rohr, has reminisced about his sacking as the coach of the national team. He alleged that then NFF Boss Amaju Pinnick had him sacked in a bid of avoiding disaster for the national team; however, reverse is the case.
“Amaju Pinnick said that I was sacked to avoid a disaster (for the Super Eagles)… But everybody can see that without me, there was a disaster. These are the facts,” he told journalist.
“There was no rationale for sacking me as they did, because if I had gone to the AFCON and not won it, or if I had not qualified for the World Cup, the could have ended my contract without paying me anything…
But they are paying up my contract in full now. I don’t think they studied my contract properly before taking their decision,” he added.
