Newly appointed Head Coach of Nigeria National League, NNL side, Ekiti United, Kehinde Anjorin has said his team will trade tackles with top Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL sides as part of their pre-season preparations.

Speaking with newsmen at the team’s open screening exercise that is ongoing at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti, Anjorin hinted that the pre-season friendlies will test the abilities of the players and also determine the team’s strong and weak points.

The CAF Instructor described his new team as a work in progress noting that out of the 18 retained players, 12 are tested and trusted for the task ahead.

“We have screening for the home-based players whereby players from all the nooks and crannies of Ekiti came for screening and we were able to shortlist about 34 out of the lots that came. The one we are doing today is the combination of home-based players and invited players.

“We have about four Grade A matches lined up. We have Kwara United, Sunshine Stars, Remo Stars, Bendel Insurance. Aside from that, Grade B matches will still be coming. I want to test our ability and from there will be elimination by substitution, then we know the areas we are deficient or strong points.

“For a coach that worth is onus, you work on the defense and attack, my strongest area is the midfield. It is a work in progress. I want to assure you within the next one month, we will be there.

“By the time I came, 18 players were retained though some of them got opportunities for greener pastures. By and large I have 12 on ground and these 12 are tested and trusted. It is on this foundation that I will start.” Anjorin maintained.
