Sensational Zanaco FC sack Emmanuel Amunike with immediate effect
Zambin giants Zanaco Football Club have terminated the appointment of former Nigerian International and Tanzania coach Emmanuel Amunike after poor runs of form with immediate effect, Felele247.com.ng understands
The announcement made on Easter Monday by the press department of the sensational Zanaco Amuneke and his assistant Emeka Amadi have been working as coaching consultants to the club but the recent poor showing of the club was responsible for their actions.
Zanaco has failed to win a game in the last 8 matches and suffered a 0-1 home defeat to NAPSA Stars in the last game.
The management announced their sacking through an official statement on Monday afternoon alongside team head coach Kevin Kaindu.
They also announced the appointment of Wedson Nyirenda as an interim manager until the end of the season.
Zanaco is placed 13th on the 18-team table after math day 28.
Before his appointment as Zanaco FC consultant, he was appointed as the coach of the Tanzania national football team.  He managed to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but he resigned from training the team after losing all three games. In November 2019, he said he was looking for a new job.
Amunike was appointed the manager of Egyptian Premier League club, Misr Lel Makkasa SC in February 2021. In March 2021, his role was changed to director of academies.
