NYG North Central Zonal Zonal Qualification series: Plateau State advocates peace through sports

The Hon Commissioner was received by the North-central Zonal Coordinator of the Federal Ministry for Youth and Sports, Mrs Bitmang and the Driector of Sports, Prof Ezra Gunen, who took him round the competition venues.
Hon Bashir Lawandi Datti commended the effort of the athletes presenting Plateau state and urges them to make the state proud by qualifying for the main tournament which will be hosted by Delta State next month September
He further commended the effort of the Governor of Plateau State His Excellency Brr. Caleb Muftwang for his quick response in providing all necessary needs of the athletes representing Plateau State at the ongoing tournament and for maintaining peace and security in the state.
He said without peace no body will leave his/her state to come to the Plateau but this NYG is the sign of reigning peace in the State Commissioner said.
He further explained that sports has remained a unifying factor to among people of the Plateau and Nigerian at large and with he urges cooperate bodies to come and invest in Sports Development.
The vibrant and astute Sports and Youth Development Commissioner assured Plateau state Athletes of government continue support and sponsorship to the National youth Games which will commence in the Next September in Delta state.
The participating states include Niger state , Nasarawa State, Kogi state, Kwara state and Plateau as Hosting State.
Athletes will compete in various games such as Football, Hockey, Handball
,Beach volleyball and Basketball.
The regional elimination series will end on Monday 14th of August 2023
