PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR DECLARES 2023 NYSC BATCH B STREAM II ORIENTATION CAMP OPEN, URGES CORPS MEMBERS TO ENJOY THEIR YEAR OF SERVICE IN THE HOME OF PEACE AND TOURISM

*FRIDAY 18TH AUGUST, 2023*

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State has declared open, the three-week National Orientation Course for prospective National Youth Service Corps Members deployed to the State.

Represented by the State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Bashir Lawandi Datti, the Governor said he was highly delighted to welcome the 2023 Batch B Stream II Corps Members deployed to Plateau State for the one year mandatory National Service.

“I congratulate you on your graduation from the various institutions of learning; your presence in camp is a testimony of your brilliant performance in your academic pursuit, I implore you to see your posting to Plateau State as an opportunity to express yourselves and make a difference in the State.”

“My Dear Compatriots, the NYSC Scheme in its five decades of existence has been an enduring vehicle for the inculcation of National Values such as patriotism, self-reliance, commitment to service, constructive engagement, equity and justice in our youths.”

“Gentlemen and women, your participation in this noble scheme will provide a platform for you to join other Patriots in both public and private sectors of the economy to work as instruments of positive change in the socio-economic landscape of the state.”

“I therefore urge you to avail yourselves towards full and active participation in all the activities and programmes of the Orientation component of the service year, as you will be preparing yourselves for the challenges of the service year. I enjoin you all to take the orientation programme seriously and stay focused to learn from what you will be taught, which will no doubt enhance your performance during and after the service year.”

“I am confident that the selfless service and patriotism exhibited by your predecessors in the scheme will spur you to greater and better achievements.”

“I assure you of the State Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment both in welfare and security, to ensure you maximize your potential and creativity in keeping with the ideals of NYSC in order to deliver on its core mandate.”

“Let me at this juncture commend the NYSC Management Team, Staff and Collaborating Agencies for their dedication to service and for working assiduously towards a hitch-free orientation course in Plateau State the Home of Peace and Tourism.”

“Corps Members, as you commence your one year National Service, through the Orientation Course, I urge you to exhibit the highest level of discipline, loyalty, dedication and commitment to National values.”

Governor Mutfwang then declared the orientation Camp Opened; “it is on this note, I declare the 2023 Batch B Stream II Orientation Camp Open.”

HON. Commissioner Sports and Youth Development Plateau state, Lawandi Datti, commended the continuous assistance of the Plateau State Government towards the Scheme,

The Formal Opening and Swearing-in Ceremony of the 2023 Batch B Stream 2 Corps Members Deployed to Plateau State was held at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, WAYE Foundation by Bukan Academy Doi-du, Jos South Local Government Area on Friday 18th August 2023.
