Rangers Internationals stubborn All-Stars, Supreme Kings in Friendlies
Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and his lieutenants continued their build-up for a perfect 2023/2024 season with the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Rangers International F.C with two wins over Enugu NPFL All-Stars team and Aba based, Supreme Kings F.C in friendly fixtures, Friday, August 18, 2023.
In the first game of the day, the players fielded by the coaching crew tamed hard fighting, Enugu NPFL All-Stars that had the likes of Uchebo Okechukwu, Christian Obiozor, Bishop Onyeudo, Uche Okafor, Chibuzor Madu, and others 2-1 inside UNEC Stadium, Enugu.
Frank Uwumiro and Jonas Emmanuel were the heroes for the coach Ilechukwu tutored side as their goals on 75 and 87 minutes sandwiched Precious Omodu’s strike from the spot on 85 minutes to earn Rangers a deserved win.
In the second match of the day, Aba-based side, Supreme Kings F.C which had earlier held their own against Abia Warriors and Heartland, came up unstuck against Rangers who dispatched the youthful side with some quality players, 5-0 in the match that happened at the Rangers Training Pitch, Liberty Estate, Independence Layout Enugu.
Ifeanyi Ogba opened the floodgates of goals at the quarter-hour mark after being set up by a Chukwudi Nwaodu pass just as Chidiebere Nwobodo helped himself to a brace on 20 and 38 minutes with experienced campaigners, Leonard Ugochukwu and Godwin Obaje put their names on the score sheet on 78 and 83 minutes.
Rangers will next square up with fellow premiership campaigners, Abia Warriors F.C in a pre-season friendly encounter on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Rangers Training Pitch, Liberty Estate, Independence Layout, Enugu with kickoff fixed for 4.00 pm.
