Mighty Jets Int’l FC Kick Off Scouting Programme, Foreign Partners Laud Players Development

Mighty Jets International FC players participated at a scouting programme on Tuesday 28th November, 2023, at the instance of their foreign partners who flew into the country from Spain.

By the end of the day’s exercise which took place at the Zaria Road stadium, General Manager of Mighty Jets INT’L FC, Ferdinand Mbum, revealed at a Press Conference that the scouts, messrs Eduardo Alcantara and former Argentine International, Mario Luna were in the country to assess and pick gifted footballers worthy of continuing their progression in Europe and the Middle East.

Mr. Mbum further said ”Our mandate from the Plateau State Government under the leadership of the Executive Governor, Barr. Caleb Muftwang, is to commercialize football and make it a revenue generating entity particularly Mighty Jets International FC, because the club is a big brand across the world by every standard.

“So, one of the major tasks is to export our players to the rest of the world, we’ll be exporting our players to foreign clubs, sooner than later.”

He emphasized the need for the club to be self-reliant in terms of funding as well as his vision, adding that such will keep the club on track as a formidable rudder.

 

The General Manager added that, ”We have a good number of partners who are ready to come to the club and select quality players whose careers can be enhanced and facilitated, and this is just the starting point.”

Responding to questions from members of the club’s Media Team and other journalists, Mr. Eduardo Alcantara disclosed that they were poised to pick players who they deemed “good and fit enough” to compete with their peers anywhere in the world.

He said “At the business end of football as a sport, you have to be good and fit to stand a chance because it is of course a competitive sport.

“On a personal note, I particularly love Nigerian footballers because they have overtime, built a great reputation on the whole in football.”

Also speaking, former Argentine International, Mario Luna, expressed his elation about what he witnessed first hand at the Zaria Road Stadium upon commencement of the scouting programme.

Furthermore, the Club’s General Manager hinted that the Executive Governor, Barr. Caleb Muftwang will be meeting with the scouts at the end of the programme in Abuja.

Meanwhile, Mighty Jets International FC defeated Mighty Jets International FC Feeders team 4-1, while Plateau Jets Sports Club lost 3-1 to Mighty Jets International FC B team.
