Nigeria’s second largest Cable Television broadcasting company Startimes have sealed up broadcasting deal with the Interim Management Committee to broadcast the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Both Startimes and IMC signed the deal on Thursday which worth N1 60 Billion for 5-year period.
The deal is expected to kick off this November 18th, with two live games for the remaining part of 2023, where the two live broadcast will be available on Startimes digital cable channels and Startimes mobile application for subscribers.
Four live matches will be activated from for the next two years starting February 18, 2024, for further expansion for the broadcast.
In a further expansion of the broadcasting initiative, there are plans to televise eight matches for the subsequent three years. This extended coverage indicates a commitment to promoting the NPFL and increasing its visibility in the sports media landscape.
This positive development is anticipated to have a significant impact on the league, potentially attracting a larger viewership, increased sponsorship opportunities, and a boost in the popularity of Nigerian football.
Felele247.com.ng scooped that 33 Media a private media company is bankrolling the deal which will see Startimes using 33 Media Outside Broadcasting Equipment of the company.
