Mighty Jets International Subject NAF Rockets To Defeat in Jos

The new Jos stadium erupted to cheers after the final whistle as Mighty Jets International FC grabbed their first victory of the NNL season against NAF Rockets FC of Abuja.

In a game that saw Coach Najib Mabo handing fifteen year-old Emmanuel Ukiyema his second appearance of the season, the fans would certainly be pleased at what they saw of the rising sensation and the entire team.

As early as the third minute, Emmanuel Dung declared Mighty Jets INT’L FC’s statement of intent with the opening goal.

Conscious of what the home side was up to, NAF Rockets attempted to crawl back into the game with a number of threats, but Mighty Jets’ defense appeared to have all the answers to their questions.

As the second half resumed, Joseph Jatau continued to threaten the opposition by sometimes dropping deep to link play and provide options through channels.

His reward subsequently arrived in the 64th minute and he wasted no time in delivering a death blow to the visitors’ ambition with his third goal of the campaign.

Although the visiting side did not sit back, their effort to rally back into the game was never to pay-off.

Shams Akilu and Jonah Ajah were handed cameo appearances and almost combined to produce a third goal for the home team, but for the effort of NAF FC’s goalkeeper.

The full time result means that NAF Rockets have been handed their third defeat of the season.

Up next for Mighty Jets INT’L FC is a trip to Illorin, Kwara State, where they have a date against ABS FC on match day 5.
