Shuaibu Applauds Madam Faith Irabor for Raising Refereeing Standards in Nigeria National League

Sporting Supreme FC General Manager, Shuaibu Yakubu, expressed admiration for Madam Faith Irabor, Chairperson of the NFF Referees Development Committee, praising her for the remarkable improvements in officiating standards within the Nigeria National League.

In a chat with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, the seasoned football administrator commended the committee’s efforts under Madam Faith Irabor’s leadership, emphasizing the incredible job they have done to enhance the quality of refereeing in the league and setting a positive precedent for the future of Nigerian football.

“You all can attest that we have never had it this good in the recent past with the level of the good job the arbiters are doing” Shuaibu stated while highlighting the committee’s contributions to the round leather game in Nigeria.

“Now teams are sure of getting the needed results on the road when they prepare for the expected results” he added.

The NFF Referees Development Committee recently took decisive action by suspending some referees from the Southern Conference.

This move was in response to perceived lapses in professionalism and adherence to duties.

Shuaibu believes the proactive measures taken by the committee demonstrate a commitment to maintaining the integrity and standards of refereeing in the Nigeria National League.

“We are confident and believe in the workings of the Committee, the NRA President Alh. Sani Zubairu and the Chief Operating Officer of the league Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman” he continued.

Meanwhile, Sporting Supreme FC is set to trade tackles with Sokoto United FC in the week 6 fixture of the 2023-2024 NNL campaign.

The team aims to further solidify their position by securing a maximum of 3 points in the upcoming clash scheduled to take place in Sokoto this weekend.

“Everyone is in top spirits and I can assure you all that we are ready to leave Sokoto with all 3 points. We are done with all necessary arrangements for the team to deliver the result. They will be flying to and fro on board Arik Air” he concluded.

Sporting Supreme FC’s stellar performance this season has improved the chance of FCT having a team in the second tier of Nigerian club football next season.

The Abuja-based side has secured an impressive 13 points out of a possible 15 after the conclusion of matchday five in the NNL.
