WIkki Tourists FC has picked another away point in the 14 weeks old Nigeria Professional Football League 21/22 Season as they forced 3sc of Ibadan to a 0-0 draw at the Lekan Salami Stadium today 20/2/22.

The Tourists were more business-like right from the blast of the whistle when goal-scoring returnee promised Damala took the first kick to signify the commencement of the game.

Sunday Haruna of Wikki Tourists who had his first appearance in the season almost got the opener for Wikki Tourists in the 17 minutes when he fired a thunderbolt shot after receiving a pass from Chigoziem hitting the crossbar and was cleared by the defence of the home team.

Sunday was again on hand in the 35minus and played a powerful free-kick from a far range and the stadium was almost thrown into ecstasy but the ball went off the crossbar for the second time ending the first half on that note.

The Coordination and fighting Spirit of the Kaura boys were boosted with some substitutions in the 65minutes as they kept tormenting the defence line of the Oluyole boys making them jittery and committing all sorts of errors.

The Wikki Tourists defence marshalled by Salisu, Dagbo, Ebuka and Taye were alive to their responsibilities.

Substitute Anas Yusuf was a little bit hurry in the 90’+2 additional time period when he came face to face with the goalkeeper after beating the 3sc defender but played the ball wideout for a goal kick after which the Referee blew the last for the game at 90’+4 minutes.

The match was ok at least we have an away point which is very important to any team we are grateful to God.

PERFORMANCE OF THE TEAM GENERALLY:

We are doing our best to have a formidable team, this is a new team and most of the players are young with the zeal to excel and I always appeal for understanding from our Supporters on that.

ON OFFICIATING:

This is an area I don’t like commenting on but I must commend the referee for the mature way he handled the game, I’m not saying this because I got a point but because that’s the truth, you all saw how he took charge of the game and mind you it was a game I ought to have won due to numerous chances we missed, we played better than 3SC and I can say that they were lucky to have escaped with a draw.

WIkki Tourists next match will be a rescheduled game against Sunshine Stars on Wednesday 23/2/2022 in Ijebu Ode.
