Match Report: Niger Tornadoes vs Wikki Tourists

Recap

Niger Tornadoes Completes The double over Wikki Tourists, Extends Unbeaten Run To Four Games:
The Ikon Allah Boys continued their fine run of form as they produced a spectacular display to inflict defeat on visiting Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi in an NPFL Match-Day 11 encounter decided at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna.

Two goals, one in each half from Tornadoes top scorer David Okoromi and new recruit Mark Daniel was enough to hand the Ikon Allah Boys a back to back victory and condemned Wikki Tourists to another defeat after similar fate befalled them in the first round when they lost by 2 goals to nothing at home.

Tornadoes began the game all fired up in search another home win to consolidate their position on the log.
The hosts had a shout for a penalty turned down by the arbiters when a Wikki Tourists player committed a punishable handball in the box but the center referee looked away, as the game continued.

The deadlock was broken in the 21st minute when Jonas Emmanuel controlled the ball, turned and located David Okoromi who capitalized on his pace and dribbling skills as he surged passed his markers and fired home from a close range for the opener to make it his 5th goal of the season.

After conceding, the visitors upped the tempo of their game as they searched for an equalizer, but to no avail and afterwards the whistle went up for a half time break.

Tornadoes technical bench introduced Munir Idris for the second half and shortly after coming on the dazzling winger made his presence felt as he continued to torment the visitors defense.

Midway through the half, Idris Saidu and Waheed Adebayo ran out of luck when their thunderous efforts at goal failed to yield any result with one parried by the goalkeeper and the other flew over the bar.

Pressure however paid off when Mark Daniel fired a shot from a long distance that sailed into the net beating Yusuf Mohammed in goal for the visitors for his first goal in Tornadoes jersey and sealed a win for the hosts.
The result means Tornadoes have now gone four matches unbeaten since the match-day 7 defeat at Sunshine and are placed on 4th position on the log with 18 points, 1 behind joint leaders Rivers United and Lobi Stars and equal on points with third placed Abia Warriors.
