Match Review: Remo Stars fought back in Jos to beat Plateau United

Plateau United suffers home defeat in the matchday 17 of the Nigeria Premier Football League on Sunday at their home ground in the hand of Remo Stars SC, Felele247.com.ng reports.

Ikenne outfit Remo Stars showed the spirit of not giving up in the last 10 minutes of the game against Plateau United who took the lead for the first in the 70^th minutes through Saidu Salisu left footed curler 200 yards to the firing line, with the midfielder dribbled past three Remo Stars players and wipe in a left footed shot past Bankole on the firing line.

The visitors quickly shrugged off the goal deficit with a quick response, Andy Okpe almost level it up, Plateau United Pius Ibrahim stood firm to push the young lad heard to safety.

Remo Stars Andy Okpe fought between two defenders to gain the ball, with Pius Ibrahim blocked the lanky striker’s effort to an onrushing Adams Olamilekan Alade comfortably tap the ball into an empty net to level up in the 81 minutes of the encounter.

With the match looking as though it was going to end in a nail-biting draw, the Luck of the Ikenne based club struck again in the 88 minutes. Plateau United struggled to clear their final third, and Andy Okpe left his pass to Abiodun Olalekan Adebayo was on it in a flash and hit a first-time thunderous shot from outside the box that no keeper on this planet could have saved to go front for the first time in the encounter.

The results sees Remo Stars leapfrog to third on the group A standing with 30 points from 17 games, they will host Kwara United at home in the last game of the season.

Remo Stars will feature in the NPFL Super 6 playoffs at the  end of the season, the playoffs will determine the overall league champion.
