Swedish side completes ASEC Mimosas Amane Romeo

BK Häcken has completed its first new acquisition for the men’s squad for the 2022 season. The Ivorian midfield talent Amane Romeo joins from ASEC Mimosas. The contract with the 18-year-old is written for four years.

Romeo trained earlier this year with BK Häcken for ten days and showed his front feet during two U21 matches. The midfielder has spent his entire youth career at ASEC Mimosas.

He started playing on the street when I was ten years old and then ASEC saw me play and offered me a place in their academy, says Romeo and describes himself as a player:

I have watched a lot of Iniesta during my upbringing and tried to learn from his way of playing. My strength lies in my passing game, but the last two years I have also worked a lot with the running strength and box to box game, he says and explains why he chose BK Häcken and what his goal is:

I have watched a lot of BK Häcken matches and likes the way the team plays. I also like that the club has a clear vision and that it is not just about winning football matches. I hope to be able to take a place in the team, be the best when it comes to and become an important player for the club.

Sports Manager Martin Ericsson:
 – Romeo is a dynamic two-way midfielder who, despite his age, showed great maturity during his trial game here. He made many good and wise decisions in his game. WE have seen him on site both in training and in matches and we hope that he will be able to develop into a really good player with us. We have a long-term plan for him and will be patient with his development.

Romeo’s contract will take effect on December 1 this year and he will start by accompanying BK Häcken’s P19 team to the Scandinavian Championships in Marbella in early December.
