Newcastle put Odion Ighalo on their radar

English premier league new moneybags Newcastle United’s are reportedly  shown interest on former Watford and Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo.

The 32-year-old striker is playing in Saudi Arabia for Al Shabab after spells at both Watford and Manchester United, but it’s reported that he would seriously consider a move to Tyneside if Newcastle were to make contact.

Newcastle have been linked with a number of players, including Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele and Man United winger Anthony Martial, but it would seem that the club’s perilous league position is a cause for concern for some of their targets.

Ighalo, whose contract expires in the summer of 2023, is the joint top scorer in the Saudi professional league with nine goals after moving from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua. Ighalo’s move to the Middle East also followed a loan spell at Manchester United, where he netted five times in 23 games. He also scored 40 goals in 100 appearances for Watford.
