Anayo Iwuala donates sports equipment to 10 grassroots clubs

Super Eagles winger Anayo Iwuala has donated sets of Otner branded jerseys and balls to 10 grassroot clubs in Ughelli, Delta State

The Esperance of Tunisia winger who is currently in Nigeria on vacation after helping his club pick up two trophies in one season, the Tunisian Super Cup and the Tunisian League title extended his charity in a brief but colourful ceremony held in honour of him in Ughelli.

Speaking at the ceremony, one of the beneficiaries, Excellent Football Club represented by the CEO, Mr Onome James thanked Anayo Iwuala for being a worthy ambassador of the Niger Delta, using sports and his philanthropic acts to unite Nigerians. He stated that the Esperance FC winger has grown into a role model for youth in the state.

In his reaction, Anayo Iwuala appreciated everybody for receiving him warmly and stated that his gesture was just his little way of giving back to where he started from. He also stated his commitment to always represent the state in good light, even as he counselled the youth of the state to be of good conduct.

“To everyone here, i am happy you’ve chosen football as a career. Playing football is of a better advantage than indulging in social vices of any kind,” he added.
