Absence of Morocco in CHAN: CAF clears the Atlas Lions

The Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) examined Morocco’s absence from the African Nations Championship.

After deliberations and examination of the evidence, including a number of correspondences between Algeria, Morocco and CAF, the Disciplinary Jury concluded that the “Royal Moroccan Football Federation was unable to travel and participate to CHAN due to circumstances totally beyond its control, and as such no sanction of any kind is imposed on the Royal Moroccan Federation.

In view of the aforementioned conclusion, the Disciplinary Jury of CAF rejects the request for damages from the Algerian Football Federation. In other words, Morocco, which is not held responsible for its absence on Algerian soil .
