Peace and Unity Preseason Tournament: Gombe United earn bragging rights over Niger Tornadoes 

Despite having more than 60% to 40% of possession for more than an hour, Hamza Abara’s Niger Toenadoes, were unable to carve out more goals at the ongoing Peace and Unity Preseason Tournament at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano State against Gombe United.

The Savannah Scorpions continue their bragging rights over the Minna based with a 3-1 score line which sees Gombe United winning their first match of the preseason tournament.

Niger Toenadoes were punished for sloppy defending in the 35th after failing to clear the ball repeatedly and goalkeeper punched it straight on to the head of Gombe United on rushing midfielder who only had to nod in for the equaliser.

Another defensive error by Niger Tornadoes allowed Amar Abdullahi to slot home and put the Savannah Scorpions in front as the Niger Tornadoes coaching crew looked on in complete shock from the bench.

Niger Tornadoes struggled to contain the pressure from Gombe United, the Savannah Scorpions rifled in their third goal in the 79th to make it their first win of the tournament after a draw with Katsina United.
