Wikki Tourists Beat Conference C Toppers Nasarawa United in Bauchi

Owolabi Aremu was the hero of today’s match between Wikki Tourists and visiting Nasarawa United in the ongoing 23/24 NNL season after scoring a brace for Wikki Tourists

Ten minutes into the game involving two familiar opponents, Owolabi got a penalty and converted the kick after being brought down in the box by Nasarawa United’s defence putting the Tourists in the driver’s seat.

Pressure continued to be mounted on Nasarawa United till the dying minutes of the first half when Owolabi Aremu in a pressing effort scored the second goal when Nasarawa United’s goalkeeper failed to grab Muhammed Guda’s powerful strike which Owolabi took advantage of and slot in the second goal ending the first half 2-0 in favour of the Tourists.

On resumption into the second half Nasarawa United became aggressive just like wounded lions and their effort paid in the 72 minutes when Chinedu Ohonachom sneaked behind Wikki Tourists’ defence and headed home a free kick for the consolation goal to his team

The game became tension-soaked as it entered the dying moments with both teams putting pressure on each other but no positive result came as the time tickled out with Wikki Tourists having the day 2-1 it ended.

POST-MATCH INTERVIEW:
