Nigeria Super Eagles Suffers Another Injury Blow

Nigeria’s AFCON 2023 aspiration has been dealt with Real Socieadad frontman Sadiq Umar ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury, Felele247.com.ng exclusively report.

The three time winners of the Adrica’s most prestigious tournament will begin their campaign against Guinea on Sunday 14th January 2024.

Felele247.com.ng scooped that the lanky striker was seen with stripe on his knee during the Super Eagles warm up match against Guinea last week, but he was asked to not join in the full training session on Thursday by the Super Eagles head coach Jose Peaeiro.

It was later discovered that there is a strain on Sadiq which might take two to three weeks to heal after a scan was carried by the team’s physician.

Also, new invitee OGC Nice Terem Moffi and Leicester City Kelechi Ihenacho were absent at the training session due to some reason known to the team.

With the outed of Bayern Lekerkusen’s striker Victor Boniface, the Super Eagles of Nigeria is now left with SSC Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as the only pointman in the squad
